I have been artistic my whole life, I drew from a young age and only added painting in the last few years, Watercolor has captured my imagination like no other medium has. The loose washes, the free mixing colors, are so captivating to me, It answers my souls yearning for true Beauty.
Similar to motherhood, painting has taught me the importance of patience, perseverence and trust. It is not possible to hold too tightly to a specific expectation when I start a painting. When I do that, the beauty it could contain, crumbles under the pressure of this idea of perfection, and stifles the life it could contain. I have to simultaneously hold the idea of what I want, and also completely let that go— trusting it will turn out, letting go of my fear, and taking a deep breath. Only then can Beauty be allowed to enter the scene, with wild impromptu choices and deliberate “mistakes.”
I hope you find as much joy in my art as I do in creating them.
